We are excited to be unveiling and offering likely the most important piece of curling memorabilia we’ve handled in 20 years of our online auctions, an original “Vanier Cup”.
This huge and impressive Sterling Silver goblet was personally presented by Canada’s Governor-General, George Vanier, to the Montreal Caledonia Curling Club at Rideau Hall in February 1963. Emerging from beneath a generation of tarnish, we do not believe this piece has been seen since at least the 1970s.
