The Puppets Up! international Puppet Festival returns to Almonte this coming weekend, for the first time in six years!
Featuring performers from Iceland, Indonesia, and the United States among others, together with street performers and our renowned “Puppet Parade”, the 2022 festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.
I am especially pleased to be a co-sponsor of the “Alliance & Indonesia Theatre”, where we will be presenting the Shadow Puppet Master Sutrisno Hartana.
Culminating with Sunday’s triumphant parade featuring a large delegation of Indonesian dancers in traditional regional costumes, led by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Canada, together with a live partial Gamelan orchestra – the 2022 festival, for us, will be a fine testament to the close diplomatic and cultural friendship between our two countries.
