Only three days before our live Toronto Coin Expo sale, the largest auction in our history!Continue reading
We’re super-excited to share our session of the impending Toronto Coin Expo sale with our customers, and apologize that due to a few technical issues getting launched with the iCollector platform, we are running a few days late.
Currently, we hope to have the full sale launched by the weekend, and continue to prepare the lot images in batches.
Updated to add: the auction is now live!
It has been several weeks since our commercial lockdown ended, and things are once again hopping in the collectibles world as we begin to welcome customers back into our shops and galleries.
Toronto Coin Expo Session I Sale
For us, all efforts and planning are currently going into preparations for our largest ever online auction with a live auction component at the end of the event. We’re doing this as part of the Toronto Coin Expo Session I Sale, which will replace the Expo’s normal in-person auction this fall (Session II of the sale will be run by our auction partners Geoffrey Bell Auctions). This is now shaping up to be the most exciting event we have ever hosted. Thanks to some wonderful consignments, we now anticipate offering a sale of more than 700 lots of quality Canadian and world material.Continue reading

I hope this brief update finds everyone and their families safe and secure, as this insidious disease moves from being a distant threat to a very local one that now penetrates the sanctuary of many if not all of our own communities, big or small, rural or urban. Our faith, perseverance, and steadfast adherence to the very sage public health advice will carry us through to brighter days ahead.
Although now approaching one full month since the temporary closure of our retail store here in Almonte, it has been a very busy period for Alliance Coin & Banknote. Thanks to the wonderful support of our mail-order customers, more than 100 items from our recent Spring Catalogue have now found their way into the homes of fellow house-bound collectors. Hundreds of diverse items remain available from this price-list, so please feel free to browse its pages.
I am also very pleased to report that we have just closed out our single most successful ebay “Weird & Wonderful” campaign of the past few years, with more than 200 lots heading out to quite literally every corner of this continent. As with most industries these days, times are tough for the collectibles small business community, and I would like to humbly and sincerely thank our customers for your support over the past month.
I am also delighted to announce tonight’s launch of “wave two” in our ebay campaign, with new lots being added each and every day. Highlighted here is a small teaser selection of the truly remarkable items we have coming up for sale in the coming days – keep watch via the ebay link, and consider adding something new and unique to your collection!
Once again, I wish everyone well in the coming weeks.
Stay safe, and keep the faith.

I am currently putting the final touches on our “Freaks & Errors” display, which will see the unveiling of at least a couple watershed errors that have remained completely unknown until our open-house.
We are delighted to announce plans for our 2019 Annual Open House to be held on Sunday December 1st. This will be the “Freaks & Errors” edition of our Coins & Strings event, and will feature a fabulous display of exotic and rare coin errors. Many of these coins have never been seen in public, and the display will be an excellent cooperative effort between Alliance Coin and a number of our advanced collecting friends in the field.
A five-year tradition comes to an end this Saturday October 19th, with the final Almonte Zombie Walk for Hunger taking place at 2:00 pm.
Benefiting the Soi Dog Foundation, Country Cat Sanctuary, as well as our local Food Bank, I am delighted to once again serve as grand parade martial for the event.
With live musical entertainment during registration, and many prizes at the end for participants, we invite everyone to join us in making this final 2-kilometer stumble around the downtown core the best Zombie Walk ever! (Honestly, there’s no greater pleasure than freaking out Mill Street diners as they sit engrossed in conversation over their salads and hot-turkey plates!)
Hats off to Heather Gadbois for having made this a fun and material contribution to our local cultural landscape.
