Sneak Peek from “Freaks & Errors” Display

We look forward very much to welcoming our local customers and friends this coming Sunday, December 1st, for some music and good cheer!

I am currently putting the final touches on our “Freaks & Errors” display, which will see the unveiling of at least a couple watershed errors that have remained completely unknown until our open-house.

Final Almonte Zombie Walk for Hunger this Saturday

A five-year tradition comes to an end this Saturday October 19th, with the final Almonte Zombie Walk for Hunger taking place at 2:00 pm.

Benefiting the Soi Dog Foundation, Country Cat Sanctuary, as well as our local Food Bank, I am delighted to once again serve as grand parade martial for the event.

With live musical entertainment during registration, and many prizes at the end for participants, we invite everyone to join us in making this final 2-kilometer stumble around the downtown core the best Zombie Walk ever! (Honestly, there’s no greater pleasure than freaking out Mill Street diners as they sit engrossed in conversation over their salads and hot-turkey plates!)

Hats off to Heather Gadbois for having made this a fun and material contribution to our local cultural landscape.

Our next Live Auction is August 18th

I am delighted to report that we continue to steam ahead with preparations for our third annual Alliance Coin & Banknote live public auction, to be held in the Almonte Old Town Hall on Sunday, August 18th.

The sale will begin at 10:00 am, with a one-hour break for lunch at noon, before continuing at 1:00 pm.

Our 2018 Auction

This will once again be a very diverse sale of 500+ lots, representing virtually every area of the coin, banknote, medal and token fields, as well as some truly unusual items in our “Artifacts,  Collectibles & Bulk Lots” category. With estimates ranging from $10 into the thousands, there will be something offered for every collecting level and budget.

Complete listings will be available for both viewing and advance bidding on our website by early August, once we are able to complete the catalogue and assign final lot numbers.   We also look forward to offering our local customers the opportunity for an auction preview at the Ottawa Stamp & Coin Dealers show one week before the live sale, on Sunday, August 11th.
